Welcome to the YouTube Academy vacation camp – the ultimate camp for young creatives and budding content creators! Here, children from the age of 10 can immerse themselves in the exciting world of YouTube, plan, shoot and edit their own videos and learn how to realize their ideas professionally in a fun way.
Whether vlogging, gaming, DIY or exciting stories – at the YouTube Academy Camp, children find the perfect platform to express their creativity, develop new skills and master the use of modern technology at the same time. Fun, teamwork and online safety are the top priorities.
Level - for beginners and somewhat experienced
You will definitely be able to take something away from us. Whether you have already had a taste of Youtube or are just starting out – there is something for everyone! You can start thinking about your video, your storyboard!
Monday - Friday from 09:00 to 16:00
The weekly camp starts every day at 09:00 and lasts until 16:00. Admission starts at 08:30 a.m. with a small breakfast in preparation for a super exciting day! From 12:00 to 13:00 there is a lunch break, with a meal together in the restaurant. From 4:00 p.m., participants can be picked up, or – if desired – go home alone.
Costs and services
The cost of a week’s camp is EUR 429.90. Everything is included – from breakfast, snacks, lunch (usually buffet) in the restaurant with drinks to leisure activities, use of laptops, software licenses and server provision costs
Face-to-face lessons on our laptops
The day camp takes place in our 3rd district near U3 station Gasometer. You will work in a team of 2 on a computer. You will quickly find your way around our software and we will be happy to support you in your first steps with editing programs!
Daily routine
In one half of the day you will explore the exciting YouTube world together with your camp colleagues and our team of trainers – in the other half of the day you will have fun in the fresh air. To the swimming pool, geo caching, playing football or basketball, to the adventure playground. In bad weather, we watch a cool movie with popcorn or go to the Racket-Sport Center.
Drones & 3D Printers
We also have drones and 3D printers in our large IT room that we can try out together. Let your creativity run wild, print out your design and take it home with you. If you like, you can also take one of our drones for a spin!

Questions & answers about the camp
What is the concrete benefit of the summer camp for me?
You will work on your video in a small team of two. In addition to lots of tips and tricks, we will explore the world of YouTube together. From brainstorming to technical implementation and presentation - you will be accompanied by experienced coaches who will show you how to turn your own vision into impressive videos. Topics such as video shooting, editing techniques, storytelling and social media strategies are taught in an age-appropriate and interactive way. You will be supervised all day by a cool team of trainers.
What happens if I don't understand something or it becomes too boring for me?
We have enough trainers available for you. This means there is always the opportunity to help you individually, separately or in a small group to go through topics that may seem too complex for others. In general, there is endless scope for creativity, especially with videos - it is unlikely that you will get bored.
Is there also play at the holiday camp?
In principle, the entire YouTube creation process is a game. Not in the way you might be used to, of course - but it's a lot of fun to implement and optimize your creative ideas. In the other half of the day, we go out to play in the fresh air, and if the weather is good, we even go to the swimming pool! Friday is always our optional bowling afternoon at Bowling Universum!
Can I take my video with me?
You will of course receive your video, as well as the complete information on which programs we used and how you can repeat everything at home!
What is YouTube?
YouTube is like a giant TV on the internet where you can decide what you want to watch. Whether you’re in the mood for funny animal videos, exciting stories, craft instructions or learning videos – there’s it all on YouTube! There is even a special section called “YouTube Kids”. There you will only find videos that are suitable for children.
