Come to Minecraft Camp – an adventure for creative minds!
Immerse yourself in the world of Minecraft and discover how to program exciting extensions and plugins with Python! In our day camp, you will learn how to creatively expand your favorite game world and master the basics of programming.
What can you expect?
- Getting started with Minecraft programming: Set up your own Minecraft server together with other participants and learn how to create plugins.
- Getting started with Python: Understand the basics of the Python programming language and use it directly in Minecraft.
- Interactive projects: Program your own commands, automate buildings and create cool game elements in Minecraft.
- Funny Kahoot!s To check your level of knowledge and highlight it among all participants
What you will learn at the camp
- Set up a Minecraft server: Together we will set up your LINUX-based Minecraft server, which will serve as the basis for your plugins.
- Python basics: You will learn important programming concepts such as variables, loops and conditions - in a simple and understandable way.
- Develop plugins: Create simple plugins that allow you and your friends to experience Minecraft in new ways.
- Build and experiment together: Test your creations directly with the other participants.
Lunch
A successful camp day also includes a great lunch! We go to the restaurant in the Gasometer-Entertainment Center together. There is usually an extensive buffet where you can choose whatever you like. Drinks are also included! If you have any special dietary requirements, we will be happy to take these into consideration.
In the other half of the day we walk (depending on the weather) to the green Prater (approx. 400m away) and go to the playgrounds there, play various ball games, go geo-caching or play capture the flag together. A trip to a municipal outdoor pool is also planned, as well as a visit to the Racket Sport Center to try out racket sports free of charge (including racket hire). On Friday afternoon, the optional bowling afternoon traditionally takes place in the Gasometer.

Of course, there's no shortage of fun - the Minecraft camp is super exciting and lots of fun with your new, like-minded friends! If you like, you also have the opportunity to fly a drone or print your creative ideas on our 3D printers!

The cost of a week's camp is EUR 429.90. Everything is included - from breakfast, snacks, lunch (usually buffet) in the restaurant with drinks to leisure activities, use of laptops, software licenses and server provision costs

The IT program takes place from Mon-Fri in one half of the day, the other half of the day we spend in the fresh air swimming, geocaching, playing football or basketball, or at the water playground in the nearby area
Questions & answers about the camp
What is the concrete benefit of the summer camp for me?
You will master new challenges alone or in small teams and constantly develop yourself further. In addition to many tips and tricks, we will explore various extensions of the game together and write our own add-ons with Python. This will make it even more fun to get creative together! You will be supervised by a cool team of trainers all day long
What happens if I don't understand something or it becomes too boring for me?
We have enough trainers available for you. So there is always the opportunity to help you individually, or to go through topics separately or in a small group that may still seem too complex for others. In addition, we always have a few exercises in stock for which there is normally not enough time, but if you are quick at it, you are welcome to do them too!
Is there also play at the holiday camp?
Yes of course! That's also part of it. We create our own private server and can then play on it together, try out various things or organize a building competition where you can prove your creativity!
Can I use the Minecraft server from home?
During the camp, you can also reach our server from home! If you want to continue using it beyond that, talk to us, we will surely find a good wag for it!
This holiday camp is all about the internationally popular game Minecraft. The children learn to improve not only in the game, but also in the surrounding area. This includes network knowledge, the Linux operating system, securing the server with a firewall, managing access permissions, installing JAVA, customizing plug-in ́s and much more!
MINECRAFT is a safe game and is released from the age of 7 (in creative mode from 6 years old). Rather, it encourages creativity instead of brutality, as is common in many other games. With a lot of love and ambition, impressive worlds full of great buildings and animals can be created.
Each student can set their own pace - one is faster, one is slower. That's no problem here with us! We have prepared many different ideas - there is something for everyone! As always in IT, knowledge of English is of course an advantage, but not mandatory!
