🎮 Game Server Hosting with Pterodactyl – Your summer camp for the IT pros of tomorrow! 🚀
Are you ready to take control of your own game servers and dive into the world of professional IT administration? At the Pterodactyl Summer Camp for teens, you’ll learn step by step how to install, manage, and securely run your own gaming servers using the modern open-source panel Pterodactyl.
Over the course of five exciting days, you’ll learn everything you need to know: from the basics of Linux and Docker, to installing the Pterodactyl Panel, all the way to setting up your own servers for games like Minecraft, CS:GO, or Rust. Of course, it’s not just about the tech—you’ll test your servers right at the camp with the other participants and can put your projects to practical use right away.
But that's not all: We also cover security, backups, and add-ons to ensure that your server not only runs smoothly but is also professionally protected. By the end of the course, you'll develop your own project—your personal game server with custom branding and features—and proudly present it to the group.
🌟 Here's what you can expect:
-
Exciting hands-on projects with an immediate gaming experience
-
Your own game server on Pterodactyl
-
Fundamentals of Linux, Docker, and Server Administration
-
Team Fun: LAN parties, group testing, and small challenges
-
Certificate of Participation: Junior Game Server Administrator
👨💻 This camp is for kids ages 11 and up who enjoy gaming and want to learn more about the technology behind games. Don’t worry—while prior knowledge is very helpful, it’s not required as long as you’re interested in LINUX, IT/network technology, and server administration.
➡️ Join us and become part of a new generation of game server admins—your adventure starts here!
Lunch
A great camp day also includes a delicious lunch! We’ll all go together to the restaurant at the Gasometer Entertainment Center. There’s usually a wide selection at the buffet, or at least three main dishes to choose from. Drinks are included, too! If you have any special dietary requests, we’ll be happy to accommodate them.
And very importantly:
Of course, there’s plenty of fun to be had—Pterodactyl Camp is super exciting and a blast with your new, like-minded friends!
If you like, you also have the opportunity to fly a drone or print your creative ideas on our 3D printers!
You should already have a basic knowledge of IT, preferably with the Linux operating system!
Sign up now and take your first steps into the world of game servers!
Level - advanced
You’re sure to learn something here. Whether you’re generally familiar with Linux environments or already consider yourself an expert, there’s something for everyone! The technology behind game server management, in particular, will open up a whole new world of possibilities for you!
Monday - Friday from 09:00 to 16:00
The weekly camp starts every day at 09:00 and runs until 16:00. Admission starts at 08:30 with a small breakfast in preparation for a super exciting day! There is a lunch break from 12:00 to 13:00, with a meal together in the restaurant. Our day camp ends at 4:00 p.m.
Costs and services
The cost for a week at camp is €469.90. This covers everything—from breakfast and snacks to lunch at a restaurant with drinks, as well as after-school supervision, use of laptops, software licenses, and server hosting costs.
Face-to-face lessons on our laptops
The day camp will take place at our location in the 3rd district, near the Gasometer U3 station. You will be working on a Linux-based computer. For our Pterodactyl Camp, we will use one or two ultra-fast servers—depending on the number of participants—and will primarily be working with Pterodactyl.
Lunch
For lunch, we visit a restaurant not far from our camp. Usually there is a buffet where you can help yourself to your heart's content. Water, raspberry and elderberry juice are also included. If you have special food requests, we will of course take this into account. You can let us know your wishes before the camp starts!
Drones & 3D Printers
In our large IT room there are also drones and 3D printers that we can try out together. Let your creativity run wild, print out your design and take it home with you. If you like, you can also take one of our drones for a spin!
Questions & answers about the camp
What is the concrete benefit of the summer camp for me?
You will immerse yourself in the complex topic of hypervisors with your camp colleagues for 5 hours a day. Our trainers will explain everything to you and prepare exercises for you, which you can solve on your own or in a team with your colleagues - making it even more fun to get active together! You will be supervised all day by a cool team of trainers who will always be on hand with help and advice.
What happens if I don't understand something or it becomes too boring for me?
We have enough trainers available for you. So there is always the possibility to help you individually, or to go through topics separately or in a small group that may still seem too complex for others. In general, the VM / Hypervisor topic is very complex, so we are sure to always find something for you 🙂
Is there also play at the holiday camp?
If your virtual machine is running and you can install a game (e.g. Minecraft server), then we'll play a round - promise!
Can I use my VM from home?
During the camp, you can also reach our server from home! If you want to continue using it beyond that, talk to us, we will surely find a good wag for it!
Secure your place on the desired date today!
Experience has shown that the vacation camps are already heavily booked at the beginning of the year, and especially after the semester break. So make sure you secure your place in good time - we work in small groups, so places are very limited. Please ask your parents to register for the vacation camp now!
